JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda said that he has not yet decided about contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Mandya and that the party would soon announce its candidate.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Periyapatna to attend the 90th Aradhana mahotsava of Chikkaveeradeshikendra Swami on Friday, Gowda said the party has not aligned with the Congress for the sake of power but has inevitably joined hands with the sole intention of keeping communal forces away from power.
He reached Bettadapura by car and later returned to Bengaluru by helicopter.
MLA K Mahadev welcomed him.
