Officials told to vacate private hotel on MIMS premises

District In-charge Minister C S Puttaraju, who visited Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) on Sunday, took the officials to task for allowing a private hotel illegally on the hospital campus and also directed them to vacate it within 24 hours.

The minister visited the hospital to pay final respects to the two persons who died in a road accident near V C Farm Gate Cross near the city.

Puttaraju took the MIMS director and medical superintendent took task after he saw some lactating mothers waiting for doctors in rain. The people alleged that the authorities have demolished the resting place of the patients and allowed a private hotel illegally.

The minister also directed Deputy Commissioner N Manjushree to suspend section officer Prabhakar for his alleged role in the establishment of the hotel.

A resting place for the patients and their relatives was ready within an hour.
