<p>Not many of us know that the great greek philosopher and mathematician ‘Pythgoras of Samos’ established his school based upon his passion and interest in understanding the laws of harmony. He was particularly interested in understanding the harmony in nature; in the lives of people.<br /><br /> He defined harmony as relationship between three dots. The first dot is that of the self. In his view, if you want harmony then you have to understand yourself in your purest essence, in spiritual sense it means to remain in soul-conscious stage, considering oneself as a point of energy that is beyond body. Next you have to understand the relationship between self and life, which is the second dot. According to Pythagoras, the reason why disharmony occurs is because we seek to control life. <br /><br />In simple words, we constantly keep on taking some or the other things out of life, this model of taking is called shark model, which makes one highly forceful and aggressive. Going further, the great philosopher described the third dot as the ‘Divine’ or ‘Truth.’ For ancient greeks, the word divine means – that which serves all, that which all seek and that which is in the best interest of all. For Pythagoras, understanding the divine meant understanding the truth about yourself. So, out of three dots, two were eternally interconnected – truth and life. It’s a fact that people in life are constantly seeking truth and the divine is always seeking to express itself through life. For Pythagoras, the triangle of these three dots is a symbol of harmony. When you focus on your truth, you are connected to life and you have the experience of life coming to you. <br /><br />Once we connect with the divine, our focus shifts from taking to giving. Instead of looking for what we can take or get from life, or how we can control others, we become selfless givers. History has shown us that the most impressive and influential people in the world have been givers all their lives. We must thus remember this important lesson that when we constantly give to life, we constantly receive from life. So, lets try and change our relationship with life. Instead of trying to control it, we must refocus ourselves by connecting with our own truth.<br /></p>
