Patla Vishwa Yaksha Sambhrama in Delhi

New Delhi unit of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust and Delhi Karnataka Sangha will organise Patla Vishwa Yaksha Sambhrama in New Delhi on October 2, New Delhi unit President Vasanth Shetty Bellare said.

Speaking to media persons, he said former Union minister M Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the programme and The Week Resident Editor Sachidananda Murthy will preside over it.

The stage where the programme will be held will be named after senior Yakshagana artiste late Alike Ramayya Rai. In the day-long programme, Yakshagana Talamaddale, Yakshagana Natya Vaibhava and Yakshagana Bayalata will be held.

In a Talamaddale based Bheeshma Senadhipatya, Moily will be the Arthadhari. A Yakshagana on ‘Gajendra Moksha’ episode will be staged. Senior Yakshagana exponent Dr M Prabhakara Joshi, artiste Umesh Shetty Ubaradka and upcoming Yakshagana artiste and fifth rank holder in PU Exam Bindiya L Shetty will be felicitated.

Poet and playwright Prof H S Shivaprakash will preside over the programme in the noon. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will be the chief guest.

He said the funds raised from the programme will be contributed towards the construction of a house for a Yakshagana artiste.
