Pejawar seer bats for Mandir and Masjid in Ayodhya

Udupi Pejawar mutt seer Vishweshtirtha Swamiji on Monday said that both Ram temple and Babri mosque should be constructed in Ayodhya. They should not be built in the same piece of land but at some distance, the seer contended.

Speaking to media persons, the Swamiji said, he too wished, like the Supreme Court, that the Ayodhya issue was resolved amicably, peacefully and without any dispute.

Responding to a question on Ramjanmaboomi being used by political parties as an election issue, he said there is nothing new about it. Political parties have been using it for political purposes for a long time now. “I have no problem with it,” he said.

Without mentioning the BJP, he said, a political party which protects the interests of the country and uphold the values of Hinduism should win the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and come to power.
