Rain woes: Palimaru mutt to adopt a village

Paryaya Palimaru Mutt seer Vidyadheesha Theertha Swami will adopt a small village in the rain-affected Kodagu district for rehabilitation.

A source in the mutt said that a team has gone to Kodagu. The team members will work on the damages and the worst hit villages to be adopted for the rehabilitation. The village will be picked in another three to four days based on the report given by the team, the source added.

Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwesha Theertha Swami has announced Rs 10 lakh relief to rain-hit Kodagu as a part of immediate help from the mutt’s trust. The amount will be handed over once the Chaturmasya of the seer is completed. Additional funds will also be released later, the mutt stated a press release.
