‘Reclaim encroached gomala land’

Kesarike and Muluvare villagers staged a protest urging the authorities to reclaim encroached gomala land and distribute it among the poor landless.

The protesters took out a procession from taluk office to Azad Park Circle and shouted slogans.

There are 184 acres of Gomala land on survey number 261/2 at Anoor gram panchayat. The land has been encroached upon. The district administration should initiate measures to reclaim the gomala land, said protesters.

The reclaimed land should be distributed among the over 300 Dalit families in Kesarike and Muluvare. The land should also be used for the construction of anganwadi, school and park, they demanded.
