Siddaramaiah constituted SIT to finish JD(S): KSE

Senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa has said that former chief minister Siddaramaiah is forcing the government to constitute special investigation team to probe the alleged audio clip involving State BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa, so as to fix Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Speaking to media persons at Hubballi Airport here on Sunday, he said Siddaramaiah is trying to finish JD(S) by constituting SIT much against the desire of Chief Minister Kumaraswamy and Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar. Siddaramaiah wants to take revenge against JD(S) for his defeat at the Chamundeshwari constituency in the 2018 assembly elections.

“Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had stated that he would abide by the decision of speaker Ramesh Kumar, but it was Siddaramaiah who announced that the SIT probe would be formed. Who is Siddaramaiah to announce SIT probe, is he part of the government?” he questioned and said he smelled something fishy in Siddaramaiah’s statements.

Eshwarappa said that the SIT probe will target JD(S) rather than harming BJP. The investigation will reveal more details. The probe is a conspiracy to drag Kumaraswamy into the issue,” he said.

The former deputy chief minister also said that Siddaramaiah is waiting for an opportunity to pull down JD(S) led government in the State.

No majority

Eshwarappa said that his party do not have a complete majority in the assembly. And we are waiting to form the government once the coalitions numbers fall short of majority. “No dissent MLAs of Congress have ever said that they were hosted by BJP in Mumbai or other places. They have always expressed their displeasure against Congress and its senior leaders. Then how can one blame BJP for their internal rift,” he said.
