OnePlus 9 with Hasselblad camera coming on this date

Last Updated 08 March 2021, 12:01 IST

After weeks of speculations, OnePlus on Monday (March 8) announced to formally unveil the company's new flagship mobile OnePlus 9 series later this month.

OnePlus 9 is slated to make the global debut on March 23. It will be a virtual event and will go live at 7:30 pm IST.

The interesting thing about the upcoming premium phone is that it will boast Hasselblad photography hardware.

Last week, the company through a picture of the Earth shot from the lunar surface had hinted about a possible collaboration with the Swedish-based Hasselblad.

It should be noted that National Aeronautical Space Administration (NASA) had sent the Hasselblad Data Camera (HDC) onboard the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon.

Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, who were the first humans to put the foot on the Moon wore the Hasselblad camera to document the life on the space shuttle and on the lunar surface.

Now, it is formally announced that the OnePlus 9 will have a Hasselblad camera, the company hopes to see major improvements in the photography experience, which the previous generation of phones couldn't match up with rivals such as Apple and Samsung.

OnePlus 9 is expected to come with Qualcomm's latest and most powerful chipset Snapdragon 888 octa-core. More details are expected to be revealed ahead of the launch, as the company is known to reveal key features, as the D-Day gets closer.
