Indian team arrives for football friendly against Malaysia

The newly-appointed chief coach of the team, Savio Medeira said, "Though the boys have arrived at a very short notice but they all are raring to go and are looking forward to play the match against Malaysian team."

"Though they (Malaysia) are higher ranked, but ranking doesn't make any difference to us, we will play to our potential and would be playing nothing less than a win," he added.

"It is good for us that we are getting to play matches against the stronger sides, which I think would be beneficial for us in the preparations for the upcoming SAFF Cup. It will prove out to be an add-on experience for us," star midfielder Jewel Shaik Raja quipped.
The Team India would resume their practice session tomorrow.

The national team is scheduled to play two International Friendly matches with Malaysian team on November 13, in Guwahati and on November 16, in Kolkata at the Salt Lake Stadium.

Indian Squad:

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Karanjit Singh, Subhashish Roy Chowdhury.

Defenders: Jaspal Singh, Sameer Naik, Mahesh Gawli, Debabrata Roy, Anwar Ali, Syed Rahim Nabi, Gouramangi Singh.

Midfielders:  Baldeep Singh, Rocus Lamare, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Francis Fernandes, Climax Lawrence, Anthony Periera, Clifford Reyes Miranda, Jewel Shaik Raja, Steven Benedict Dias, Lalrindika Ralte. Forwards: Baljit Singh Sahni, Jeje Lalpeklua, Sushil Singh, Joaquim Abranches, Sunil Chhetri. Head Coach: Savio Medeira.
