Batting first, Goa declared their first innings at 285 for nine from 93.3 overs with Gopal Mahale and Lakshay Garg hitting 78 and 80 runs respectively. Pandrekar then picked up eight for 38, running through the Kerala batsmen who folded up for dismal 124 in 72.3 overs.

At stumps on day two, Goa were 40 for one in their second essay for an overall lead of 201 runs. Friday has been declared the ‘rest’ day because of solar eclipse.
