Both Board President's XI and South Africa 'A' batsmen flexed their muscles on the second day of their warm-up game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday.

Resuming on 389/2, South Africa 'A' piled up 473 for the loss of four wickets before the declaration came. Making a strong reply, Board President's XI were 201 for two when rain forced an early close.

With Sarel Erwee (117 retd hurt) and Zubayr Hamza (104 rtd hurt) getting to their tons on the first day, the visitors opted for their other batsmen to get a hit.

Skipper Khayelihle Zondo struck an impressive half-century (67) before Hendrick Van Der Dussen (39), Senuran Muthusamy (31) and wicket-keeper Rudi Second (44 not out) all got some time out in the middle.

Board President's made a solid start in response with the openers forging a 59-run stand before Abhimanyu Easwaran was dismissed for 33.

Sanjay Ramaswamy and Dhruv Shorey then chugged along mixing caution and aggression as the home side reached the 180-mark with the loss of just one wicket.

Ramaswamy was unfortunate not to reach his ton as the Vidarbha opener was caught behind off the bowling of Shaun Von Berg for 87.

Shorey was batting on 67 along with Ricky Bhui (3 not out) when play ended for the day.

Brief scores: South Africa 'A': 473/4 decl in 115.1 overs (Khayelihle Zondo 67, Hendrik Van Der Dussen 39, Senuran Muthusamy 31, Rudi Second 44 n.o.; Jalaj Saxena 2-54) vs Board President's XI: 201/2 in 45 overs (Abhimanyu Easwaran 33, Sanjay Ramaswamy 87, Dhruv Shorey 67 n.o.)
