Sandesh in final

The finalists for Sunday’s last day were spotted on Saturday, with the men’s 55kg event setting the ball rolling. From 26 preliminary contenders, the list was pruned to 10 after two elimination rounds.

Among those making it to the final were Manoj K Manjumdar of Gorkhaland, Pratap Kalkundikar and Sandesh Salvi, both of Karnataka.

The event carries a total prize money of over Rs 20 lakh with the Mr India winner pocketing Rs 5 lakh. Competitions will be held in 10 categories among men and women.

Suhas Kumar of Maharashtra is the defending Mr India. He was the winner in the previous edition in the 75 kg category.

In the current edition, 23 states have sent more than 300 participants.
