State Bank of Mysore drub Canara for title

State Bank of Mysore defeated Canara Bank by five wickets to emerge champions in the KSCA Group II Divsion I (Super League).

Batting first Canara Bank made 260 for seven in 50 overs. State Bank went past the target with more than four overs to spare. They made 261 for five as their top order batsmen made merry.

KB Pawan (62, 57b, 7x4, 2x6) Deepak Chougule (56 n.o., 56b, 6x4, 1x6) and KN Bharath (50, 101b, 2x4, 1x6) chipped in with fifties to spur Canara Bank to a competitive total.
The batting riches in State Bank’s line-up fired in unison on the day as they overhauled the target with consumate ease.

The start to the chase was given by former Karnataka all-rounder B Akhil ( (52, 60b, 5x4), and promising youngster Karun Nair (83, 91b, 8x4), who batted with patience that set the State Bank well on course for a win.

What might have been an easy win was eventually transformed into  a romp as Anirudh Joshi (71 n.o., 49b, 5x4, 3x6) played a forceful cameo.
His 49-ball high-velocity innings ensured that State Bank would overhaul the target in 45.3 overs to clinch the title.
