“I admit that there were a lot of mistakes. Obviously the lessons learned will help us to come up with a much better Games next time,” Strange said at a press meet at the Sree Kanteerava stadium.

The Briton, however, added that IWAS would like to work with India to improve facilities for sportspersons, especially the disabled. “We won’t abandon India for sure. We know there are lot of good athletes in your country, so we like to work with the paralympic authorities to build good facilities for the athletes,” she added.

Strange said the 2011 IWAS might be held in Europe. “We are yet to decide on the host country for next Games. It could well be in any of the European countries.”

Games Technical Director Jan Bockweg said he was upset with the Indian athletes not turning up for the camps and seminars held before the start of the Games.

“There were camps and seminars for all the games. But we didn’t got a single representation from the Indian athletes,” Bockweg said.
