Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is not taking rest alone. The state government too is in coma stage. The mistake committed by previous the Congress government by observing Tipu Jayanti is continued by the coalition government now in the state, said MLA C T Ravi.

Speaking to reporters here, on Saturday, Ravi accused the state government of failing to come to the rescue of flood victims (Kodagu).

“The administrative mechanism is not strengthened in the state. No welfare programmes have been initiated,” he added.

Earlier, police detained Ravi along with four other persons when they tried to take out a silent protest in the city.

Ravi along with BJP leaders Varasiddivenugopal, Pushparaj and Devaraj Shetty started their procession from taluk office.

The police stopped them when they reached Hanumantappa Circle.

Though they claimed that they are not shouting any slogans against the government and holding a peaceful protest by not violating the prohibitory order, the police did not allow them to march further and took them into custody. They were later released.
