Belagavi: 3 students killed on the spot in mishap

Three students of Belagavi, were killed on the spot after the scooter they were riding, collided head-on with a car, near Desur village on Khanapur road on the outskirts of Belagavi, on Sunday.

The police have identified the deceased as Atharva Jadhav (16) resident of Konwal Galli, Aman Anand Kapileshwari (17) resident of Ansurkar Galli and Harsh Sunil Savgaonkar (17) resident of Mujawar Galli in Belagavi.

The trio was studying in different colleges. They had visited Bhoothnath temple at Ganibail village in Khanapur and were over speeding on the scooter.

While overtaking a vehicle, they rammed into an approaching car, resulting in death of all the three, on the spot.

The impact of the accident was such that the bodies were thrown some distance away from the point of contact.

Belagavi Rural police shifted the bodies to the hospital and the following postmortem handed them over to the families. The car driver is absconding since the accident. Belagavi Rural police have registered a case.
