5 killed in Honnavar accident

Five persons were killed and more than 15 injured in a collision between a tempo and a tanker near Honnavar on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Samantha Madiwala (34), Sinchana Madiwala (6), Kamalakara Bhandari (50), Mohan Mesta (50) and Nagaraja Naika (26). All of them were travelling by the tempo, which was reduced to a heap of metal due to the impact of the collision. Four persons sustained grievous injuries in the accident. Honnavar police visited the spot.
