Slipped and fell

They slipped and fell into the tank when they took the animals there to drink water.
Three schoolchildren drowned in a pond when they accidentally slipped into it at Bondebommanahalli Vadaratti village near Chikkajajur of Holalkere taluk in Chitradurga district on Sunday.

All of them are children of agricultural labourers. They are Abhishek, 12, son of Manjappa, Darshan 12, son of Lakshman, and Sagar, 11, son of Thimmappa.

All the children were studying in class 5 at a local government school. The incident took place when the students took their cattle to drink water at the pond located in the ‘gomala’ land in their village.

The pond was filled to the brim following heavy rain in the region in the last few days. A case has been registered at the Chikkajajur police station.
