At 71, this seer is set to appear for PG exam

Age has not deterred this seer from pursuing his education as he is all set to appear for a postgraduate exam in December. Subramanya Bharathi Swami, 71, from Adoni, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, already has several postgraduate degrees to his credit.

The seer of Sringeri mutt’s Adoni branch is staying at ‘Mangala Mandira’ on Anche Thippaiah Beedhi in the town as part of Chaturmasya vrata and is getting ready for his MA English exams, scheduled to be conducted in December 2018 by Osmania University, Hyderabad.

The seer already possess postgraduate degrees in Social Science, Sanskrit and has completed a PhD in Philosophy just six months ago. He has also completed BA BEd in correspondence from UoM. Being an Engineering graduate, he was a Central government employee. He took voluntary retirement at the age of 38.

Subramanya Bharathi can play musical instruments like veena, flute, mridanga and morching and is well-versed in 14 Indian languages including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, English and Marathi.
