Actor Pranitha to adopt govt school in Hassan

Actor Pranitha Subhash has volunteered to adopt one of the government schools in Hassan and provide it a sustainable boost.

She has also been named the ‘education ambassador’ of Save Government Schools Movement (SGSM). She has committed to adopt a school in Hassan district under SGSM.

The actor had earlier been associated with Teach India initiative and voluntarily taught at govt schools. The process of finalising a school that she would adopt is underway, said Anil Shetty, lead campaigner of SGSM.

“Our team is working on finding a government school in Hassan district for Pranitha to adopt and we will be upgrading that school to ensure better quality education for children,” said Shetty.

In future too, the SGSM committee will approach celebrities to adopt schools and become ‘education ambassadors’.

Shetty said three schools were being considered and the one that deserves maximum attention would be adopted.
