BEL security cover for Parliament

“The Parliament building will have an extra security cover in the next six to eight months with an access control system to monitor movement of members, officials and visitors and vehicle entry will be under scrutiny,” BEL Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Kumar Datt said here on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an International Radar Symposium here, Datt said BEL, headquartered here in the City had bagged the Rs 30-crore order to install an access control security system in the Parliament building that will keep a monitor and control movement of people.

Datt added that BEL would also provide high security cover to the Cabinet Secretariat, the RBI premises and other sensitive nd vital installations in the nation’s capital. The electronic security ring will have closed circuit television (CCTV), baggage checking devices and other gadgets.

He said his company has secured orders from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for supply of 30 radars.
