<p>Rumours of child lifting led to the death of a man in an accident at Murki village in Aurad taluk, Bidar district on Friday.</p>.<p>The deceased is Mohammad Ajam (28), a resident of Hyderabad.</p>.<p>According to the police, Mohammad Salman Alinoor, Mohammad Ajam, Noor Mohammad Sadiq and Salam Khubeshi had come to Handikera village in a car to meet their friend.</p>.<p>They were returning to Hyderabad when the incident occurred.</p>.<p>They stopped on the outskirts of Handikera and offered chocolates to a few children on the road. A few local residents presumed them to be child lifters and attacked them. Sensing the danger, they escaped in the car.</p>.<p>The villagers informed their acquaintances at Murki village about the incident. Before the car reached Murki, residents had mostly blocked the road waiting for the four.</p>.<p class="CrossHead"><strong>Severe injuries</strong></p>.<p>On noticing them, the car driver drove very fast, lost control over it and the car toppled into a roadside pit. Ajam died on the spot due to severe injuries, said the police.</p>.<p>The police rushed to the spot and safely sent the trio to Hyderabad and shifted the body to a hospital.</p>.<p>The police have arrested Amar Patil and Manoj Biradar for videographing the incident and making it viral on WhatsApp. </p>.<p>Though preliminary investigation revealed that the accident was the cause for death, the police are analysing pictures and videos to ascertain if it is a lynching case.</p>
