The Congress high command should take a suitable decision to save the State, he said.
He was addressing the party workers on Monday at a convention labelled as - ‘self-confidence and party’s growth’, at Palace Grounds in Bangalore.

Gowda said he was not reacting to the internal affairs of the BJP. But, he said he was concerned about the manner in which Chief Minister Yeddyurappa was running the administration. “ It is a shame that Yeddyurappa  hesitated even to drop politicians who are corrupt and rejected by the people, from the state cabinet”, Gowda ridiculed.  The JD (S) supremo said that both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA president Sonia Gandhi should understand the seriousness of the situation and save the State.

Later addressing the workers, JD (S) State president H D Kumaraswamy said the party would field its candidates in all the BBMP wards. “In case the Congress proposes to face the elections jointly to defeat the BJP, then we will consider it”, he declared.

The convention passed three resolutions - to launch a movement - Mane Manege Kumaranna (reaching Kumaraswamy to every house); fight against anti-people policies of the BJP and protest against Operation Lotus.
