BJP leaders have filed a complaint against writer K S Bhagwan for his derogatory remarks against Hindu god Ram in his book ‘Rama Mandira Yake Beda?’ (Why we don’t need a Ram Mandira?).

They have registered a complaint against the writer at the office of the Superintendent of Police in Mandya. Bhagwan has mentioned that Ram was consuming meat and alcohol.

“The writer is provoking the sentiments of the people with his remarks against lord Ram. The government orders arrest of people who make anti-Tipu Sultan statements. But, the government has failed to act against Bhagwan,” they alleged. BJP leaders Shivakumar Aradya, C T Manjunath, Naganna Mallappa and others have filed the complaint. The book was released in March and the second edition was released recently. Speaking to DH, Bhagwan said, his comments are based on the Ramayana written by Valmiki. “I have mentioned the facts,” he said.
