Cauvery panel discusses effective water management

The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee on Thursday discussed the effective management of water in Cauvery basin areas.

Navin Kumar, who chaired the meeting, told reporters that the committee discussed the proper utilisation of water and the officials of the Ministry of Agriculture made a presentation of crop pattern and water utilisation for agriculture in the Cauvery basin areas.

He said the committee also reviewed the rainfall and forecast of rain for next three to four weeks. “There is good monsoon in Cauvery basin area and there is no distress situation,” he said.
