JOIN USThe charred body of a man was found in an SUV at Nehru Colony near Arehalli railway station in Holalkere taluk on Sunday night.
According to the police, the body and the car (Scorpio) were completely burnt. The car belonged to S Manjunath, a resident of Burujanahatti in Chitradurga. Manjunath, a financier and an editor of a weekly magazine, went missing along with the car since Sunday evening.
The police suspect that the body could be of Manjunath since he had left his house in the car on Sunday evening, saying that he had some work at DC Circle. Also, his mobile phone was switched off.
Police inspector Madhusudhan told DH, someone might have murdered the unidentified man elsewhere between 7 pm and 8 pm and burnt the body here (Arehalli) on late on Sunday night. The body has been sent for postmortem. DNA test will be conducted to identify the dead man. “We will bring the culprits to book soon,” the officer said.
