Come clear on Ram Mandir, BJP tells Gowda

BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Tuesday dared former prime minister HD Deve Gowda to come clean on the Ram Mandir issue.

“Just a couple of days ago, disrespect was meted out to the Valmiki community.

If H D Deve Gowda, the humble farmer, humbly accepted the government’s Valmiki award, what’s his view on the Ram Janmabhoomi for which Valmiki dedicated his entire life,” Trivedi asked while speaking to reporters.

He claimed that several opposition parties, including the Samajwadi Party, were now pitching for construction of the temple.

“Will the Congress stand by the same commitment the late prime minister Narasimha Rao had on constructing a temple on the site?” he said.

Trivedi also mocked the Mahaghatbandhan, which he said took off from Bengaluru during Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s swearing-in ceremony “but has crashed before landing.”

He said it was more a “Beta Bachao” exercise. “Sonia Gandhi wants to save her son, Deve Gowda his son, Mulayam Singh Yadav his son, Ajit Singh his son and Laloo Prasad Yadav his son,” he said.
