Some BJP workers have lodged a complaint with Sagar town police station, seeking legal action against former MLA Belur Gopalakrishna for his alleged provocative remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the complaint, the taluk BJP workers Arun Kugwe, K V Praveen Kumar and Vishwa Hindu Parishad taluk unit president I V Hegade have said that Gopalakrishna, at a programme organised by KPCC in February had said, “Those who speak for Nathuram Godse, the man who killed Mahatma Gandhi, should not be in this country, friends. If they try to kill the country’s democracy and if you have the guts, you should shoot and kill your Modi. You won’t have to kill anybody else.” By making such remarks, Belur Gopalakrishna has instigated the assassination of the prime minister.”

Hence, the police must initiate legal action against him, they have demanded.
