<p class="title">Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Parameshwara has ordered the expulsion of 29 party leaders who are contesting the May 12 Assembly polls as rebels.</p>.<p class="bodytext">These leaders, who were denied tickets, are contesting the election as independent candidates from 27 Assembly constituencies across the state. They include Tarikere legislator<br />G H Srinivas, who is standing as an independent after having joined the JD(S) where he did not get the ticket. The list also has A L Pushpa (Jagalur), Prakash Angadi (Navalgund), Nallurhalli Nagesh (Mahadevapura), Venkatesh Naik (brother of Siruguppa MLA B M Nagaraj) among others.</p>.<p class="bodytext">They have been expelled from the party’s primary membership for six years, the KPCC said in a press release.</p>
