JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Tuesday said that both the Congress and the JD(S) leaders will hold a meeting on October 20 in Bengaluru to draw up strategies for the upcoming bypolls to the two Assembly and three Lok Sabha constituencies.
Speaking to reporters, Gowda said that leaders including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, Congress legislature party leader Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao, JD(S) state president H Vishwanath and himself will be present in the meeting.
He also said that both parties would campaign together.
When asked if he had discussed the issue of Mahagathbandhan and the resignation of Primary and Secondary Education minister N Mahesh, with BSP chief Mayawati during his recent visit to New Delhi, Gowda said, “Nothing will happen to the Gathbandhan. Parties like the Congress and the JD(S) have come together. This in itself is the first step towards Mahagathbandhan.”
