Counting for North East Graduate Constituency begins

The counting for North East Graduate Constituency began in the mathematics department in Gulbarga University here, on Tuesday. The counting for first preference votes began at around 3.30 pm.

The election for the constituency was held on June 8.

As many as 14 tables have been set up for counting. For every table a counting supervisor, supervisor and micro-observer have been appointed.

Of the total registered voters of 82,054, as many as 53,384 have exercised their franchise. The polling percentage is 67.5%.

Election Officer and Regional Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey said as the number of votes polled as mentioned by the presiding officers, at each polling booth, didn’t tally with votes in the ballot boxes, only the number of votes in the ballot boxes would be taken into consideration. Ten candidates are in the fray.
