Dharna escalates expenditure

While the Assembly has not transacted any business in the last two days, the Council had regular business till Monday evening. However, during the days of over night dharna the expenditure goes up. During the regular business days, the Assembly halls are closed after the Houses are adjourned.

Power supply

But for the last two days the halls are kept open though there is no regular session. And, power supply for lighting and air conditioners continues because members of the opposition continue to stay in the legislature premises.

Power supply in both the houses on any normal day incurs expenditure of Rs 20,000. Because the lights and ACs were on 24 hours of the day the expenditure is expected to go double.

The Legislature Secretariat had arranged for dinner on Monday and breakfast on Tuesday morning. The food bills are yet to be cleared by the secretariat.
