Chikmagalur district annual credit plan released

District credit plan with an outplay of Rs 2068 crore for the year 2013-14 was released in Chikmagalur on Tuesday.

Speaking at the district lead bank meeting, Lead Bank Manager N T Narayanamurthy said that the credit plan has been prepared keeping in mind the demand from the district.

About Rs 1,367 crore has been earmarked for agriculture sector. The allocation has been increased by 21 per cent. This includes Rs 940 crore for crop loan, Rs 59 crore for minor irrigation, Rs 97 crore for land development, Rs 63 crore for farm equipment, Rs 110 crore for horticulture crops, Rs 61 crore small industries and others.

About Rs 494 crore has been earmarked for other priority sector.

The allocation for each taluk is as follows: Chikmagalur—Rs 637 crore, Mudigere—Rs 312 crore, Kadur—Rs 262 crore, Tarikere—Rs 250 crore, Koppa—Rs 212 crore, NRPura—Rs 137 crore and Sringeri—Rs 112 crore.

In 2012-13, the credit plan had earmarked Rs 1,378 crore for priority sector and Rs 1,021 crore for agriculture.

 The total deposits in the district is Rs 4,560 crore and credit is Rs 3,437 crore.

Zilla Panchayat CEO P Shivashankar, Reserve Bank Deputy General Manager Parvathi Sharma and Corporation Bank Udupi region Deputy General Manager N Manjunath Shenoy were present.
