JOIN USThe first-ever postal Kannada Sammellana will be organised on July 1 at Bhavani Mantap, Sri Janardhan Mahakali temple.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, postal superintendent Rajashekhar Bhat said that the Sammellana is organised to promote Kannada literature.
He said that the inauguration will be done by the honorary president of the reception committee Dr Nidamburu Vijaya Ballal.
He added that the Sammellana will have conferences on postal literature and poems.
The chief guests include Udupi Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Neelavar Surendra Adiga, Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, national award winner retired teacher Kudi Vasanth Kumar Shetty and veteran journalist S Nityanand Padre and others, Bhat explained.
Postal superintendent Rajashekhar Bhat will preside over the function.
The programmes to be held on the occasion include ‘Anche-Sahitya-Sangatya Vichara Vedike’, ‘Anche-Hasya-Lasya, ‘Anche Kavi Gosti’, ‘Bhava Lahiri’, and ‘Sankrithika Sinchana’.
Columnist Chakravarthi Sulibele will deliver the keynote address at the valedictory ceremony on the topic ‘Postal Service-A service to the nation’.
The valedictory ceremony will also have the award ceremony. Awards will be given to renowned litterateurs Gopal Bhat, Anshumali, Srinivas Bhat and Sukanya Kalasa, he added.
