JOIN USChief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has proposed to take up GIS-based mapping of all properties coming under urban local bodies using satellite image.
Kumaraswamy has proposed to take up mapping of water supply and sewerage network coming under 10 city municipal corporations of the state.
With an aim to ease vehicular congestion in cities, the chief minister has proposed multi-level vehicle parking facilities in five municipal corporations in the state. A senior official from the Urban Development department said that the cities to be considered for the project will be decided soon. In the first stage, multi-level parking facilities will be constructed in five municipal corporations under Public Private Partnership (PPP).
Significant allocation
The old Mysuru region, especially Mandya and Channapatna, have found significant allocation in the chief minister’s budget.
Kumaraswamy has offered two projects for the people of Hassan. He has proposed to allocate Rs 50 crore to construct a ring road in Hassan. “As the city is growing rapidly, a ring road will be constructed around Hassan city for smooth transport at a cost of Rs 30 crore,’’ the chief minister said.
To look back, the project has completed a full circle. The project was started during the JD(S)-BJP coalition government in 2006-07 at a cost of Rs 7 crore. However, of the 9 km road, connecting the Dairy Circle and the Belur Road in Hassan, only 3.18 km stretch is completed, according to an official in Hassan.
As a second bonanza for Hassan, Kumaraswamy has allocated Rs 36 crore for the development of roads, bridge construction, boat riding, fountain construction, children’s park, children’s train in the park around Channapatna lake.
Kumaraswamy has offered a special package of Rs 50 crore for Mandya city. The package will ensure all-round development of the city.
To address the drinking water problem in Mysuru city and the 92 villages around, the chief minister has proposed to take up a scheme to provide additional 300 MLD water from River Cauvery near Hale Undavadi at a cost of Rs 50 crore.
