Kolar, KGF SPs assume office

Ram Nivas Sepat assumed the office as Superintendent of Police in the city on Friday.

Outgoing SP K Tyagarajan greeted him and handed over the baton.

Later speaking with the mediapersons, SP Sepat said this is the first time he has been given the in charge of the district. “I will meet all the officials to know the problems of the district, before drafting an action plan,” he said.

Belonging to the 1998 IPS batch, Sepat has earlier worked as a probationary in Dakshina Kannada district. He has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Police in Kundapur. A native of Rajasthan, Sepat has earned a doctorate in agriculture.

Earlier in the day, he visited Kolaramma temple and offered prayers.

She succeeds Debajyoti Ray, who was transferred as Superintendent of Police for the CID division in Bangalore.
