'Kudremukh is a rural area'

The department concerned had ruled out the provision of giving rural certificate to the candidates since Kudremukh is a town.

However, several candidates had written to the Secretary of the Urban Development Department in this regard.

Examining the plea, the Secretary has informed the Deputy Commissioner that the students who studied in Kudremukh can be considered as rural students since Kudremukh notified area has not been specified as a big city or small city or even converted area by the Karnataka City Corporation Act 1976 or the Karnataka Municipal Act 1964.
