TMC chief officer caught accepting bribe

The police said the officer was taking bribe via the office attendant Gudibande Nagaraj.
R Venkatesh, a resident of Kumbarapalya in Bangarpet, wished to change the documents of a plot purchased by his father Yuvarajappa. He had submitted an application 15 days ago and also paid the fees.

When approached regarding the application, the chief officer directed Venkatesh to the attendant. Venkatesh approached the attendant; however, he was pressed to pay Rs 1,000 to the officer.

Venkatesh complained to the Lokayukta Friday morning. The Lokayukta police caught the officer and the attendant red-handed on Friday afternoon at the TMC office.

A B Sudhakar directed the investigation. DySP M P Nagaraj led the team consisting of inspectors S Manjunath and Lokesh and staff Krishnappa, Narasimhaiah, Vijaya Kumar, Srinivasa Naik, Sunil and Krishna Reddy.
