The residents of Hanumanthnagar, Maruthi Layout, Mutton Market, A D Colony and Bhovi Colony took part in the protest. They urged the TMC authorities to provide proper drinking water to their areas.

They stated that, for the last several days, the residents had to face several hardships, due to lack of drinking water to their areas.

Deaf ears

Though they had brought the matter to the notice of the TMC officials, it had fallen on deaf ears. Day by day, our problems increased and there was none to solve  our problems or help, they said.

They added, respective ward members of the TMC had complained the the chief officer of the TMC, however, the officials had failed to solve their problems, they added.

Chief Officer Muniswamy met the protesting members and promised to look into the matter and assured to solve their problems. He also stated that till the drinking water problem would be solved, water would be supplied through the tankers to the areas which were hit with water scarcity.

After the assurance from the chief officer, the residents withdrew the protest.
