Last Updated 06 September 2018, 04:51 IST

The Mysuru-based woman who was found in a Shimla hospital will return to Karnataka on Thursday, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s office said in a statement.

The woman was abandoned by her husband, leaving her traumatised. Later, she was found in Kangra in Himachal Pradesh and was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Shimla.

When the woman’s plight was reported by the media, Kumaraswamy directed the Mysuru deputy commissioner to bring her back.

A team of officers is bringing her back home, the CM’s office said.

While the CMO did not name the woman, she has been identified in the media as Padma Sampath.

Expressing gratitude to doctors and staffers at the Shimla hospital, Kumaraswamy said he hoped to meet the woman soon.

He also hailed the Mysuru DC and officials from the Department of Health and Family Welfare who responded on a war footing to arrange for the woman’s return.
