The police on Thursday arrested four BJP workers in connection with the assault on the Congress leaders, including Muzrai Minister P T Parameshwara Naik, at Kumbarahalli in Chittapur taluk on Wednesday.

The vehicle, in which minister was travelling, was damaged after some BJP workers allegedly threw stones at the vehicle. Taluk Panchayat member Namadev Rathod (Petashirur) lodged a complaint against Valmik Rathod and others alleging that an attempt was made to kill the Congress leaders by waylaying the vehicle in which the minister was travelling for election campaign.

Meanwhile, BJP worker Vasanth Shankar Chavan has also lodged a counter complaint against Minister Naik and other Congress leaders accusing them of coming to distribute liquor and forcing to vote for Congress. The police have registered FIR against two groups.
