Government to appoint 2,000 doctors

Announcing this at a press meet here on Friday, Health and Family Welfare Minister B Sriramulu said the State is also planning to amend Cadre and Recruitment Rules to revise pay scale of the government surgeons who are paid less than their counterparts in the private hospitals.

To take over

He said, the State government will take over the maintenance and management of the Rajeev Gandhi Superspeciality (OPEC) Hospital  in future days. There was no question of handing over the superspeciality hospital to Apollo Hospital, which is now maintaining the OPEC hospital, he added.

Vajapayee Arogyasree Scheme has been successfully implemented on a pilot basis in six districts of Hyderabad Karnataka, he said adding that the scheme will be extended to all the districts in the State.
