Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Venkata Rao Nadagouda on Saturday said that the government was yet to take off.

"It will take some time for the government to take off. Once the budget is presented, the government will take off," the minister said.

Nadagouda was speaking to reporters after visiting Karnataka Oil Seeds Federation in Chitradurga.

"The coalition government's two alliance partners, the JD(S) and the Congress, have perfection understanding and coordination. Media is observing the government wearing specific spectacles," he charged and advised the media to take off the spectacles to see the truth.

"Former chief minister Siddaramaiah is with the government. The government will complete its tenure of five years. District in-charge ministers will be appointed before the presentation of the budget. The pace of the development will speed up once these two things are completed," he said.

He said that the BJP leaders were cooking up stories that the section of the JD(S) and the Congress MLAs were with them.

Nadagoua said: "The government will take up Hydroponics system, an Israeli technology, on a pilot basis and an announcement will be made in the budget in this regard."

Hydroponics is a type of gardening that grows plants using very little nutrient-rich water solutions and without any soil.

"The government plans to set up a farm near Ballari for the development of Devani, a local breed of cattle known for giving more milk. My focus is on the development of a local breed of cattle," he said.

Nadagouda said that his department's land had encroached and he would discuss the matter with the Revenue Minister to get back the land after the budget.
