Governor Vajubhai Vala late on Monday accepted the resignation of Primary and Secondary Education Minister N Mahesh.

Mahesh’s resignation was forwarded to Raj Bhavan by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday morning. Mahesh’s resignation was accepted by Kumaraswamy on October 11, the same day he exited office.

Mahesh, who was elected from Kollegal in the Assembly elections held earlier this year, was the lone BSP minister in Kumaraswamy’s Cabinet.

Earlier in the day, Kumaraswamy had said that Mahesh’s resignation had been accepted and the same would be forwarded to the Governor’s office. The chief minister had also said that the JD(S)’s alliance with BSP in Karnataka was intact.
