Infy Foundation declares Aarohan awards

Individuals developing unique solutions for the welfare of underprivileged in the country and who have made a positive impact on them have been honoured with Aarohan Social Innovation awards by Infosys Foundation.

The winners were identified across six categories — healthcare, rural development, destitute care, women’s safety and empowerment, education & sports and sustainability.

The awardees were selected from a pool of more than 900 applications by a jury comprising Trilochan Sastry, former dean, IIM Bangalore; Arvind Gupta, an Indian toy inventor and science expert; Anil Gupta, visiting faculty member, IIM Ahmedabad and founder of the Honey Bee Network; GVV Sharma, faculty member of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Co-ordinator, Teaching Learning Centre, IIT Hyderabad; Sumit Virmani, senior vice president and global head, marketing, Infosys; and Sudha Murty, Infosys Foundation chairperson and renowned author.

Sudha Murty said: “All the winners have showcased this spirit at the core of their creations and we are proud to recognise their efforts.”

The platinum award winners receiving Rs 30 lakh include Prashant Gade from Madhya Pradesh for his contribution in the healthcare sector, and Khushwant Rai and Anjali Khurana from Punjab in education.

The gold award winners receiving Rs 20 lakh include Mayur Ramrao Ladole, Gaurav Ghanshyam Dastane and Nilesh Lakshman Jadhav from Maharashtra for their contribution in the sustainability sector, and the Samagra Empowerment Foundation from Maharashtra in women’s safety and empowerment.

The silver award winners receiving Rs 15 lakh include Sumanth Mudaliar and Vishrut Gaurangkumar Bhatt from Gujrat for their contribution in destitute care, Aakash Bhadana, Vasu Kaushik and Rahul Gupta from Haryana for their contribution in healthcare.

The bronze award winners receiving Rs 10 lakh include Sharwan Kumar Bajya from Rajasthan for his contribution in rural development and Sanskriti Dawle from Karnataka for contribution in the education sector.
