Cricket: Gowtham shines in Jayanagar CC's big win

A skipper’s knock by N J Gowtham (136, 14X4s), helped defending champion Jayanagar CC to register a big 121-run win over Saraswathipuram SC in the KSCA Mysore Zone first division league tie played at Gangothri Glades grounds here on Saturday.

At Mandya, National CC had to satisfy for a draw with JaiHind CC, despite a century by Deepak of Mandya National CC.

In the second division match held at Mandya, Navodaya CC too had to satisfy for a draw against Young Cricketers.  Navodaya CC has scored a swift  331 runs in 37.5 overs, due to a century by H S Mahesh.

National CC 242 for seven in 55 overs (Deepak S Gowda 100, C G Jagadeesh Kumar  30, Kishan S Bedare 27, Harikrishna Kumar 25, Balaram two for 40) drew with Jaihind CC ‘A’ 222 for eight in 40 overs (Kiran 30, Yeshwanth 35, Manjunath Bharve 28, Siddarth Koul 29, Harikrishna Kumar four for 63, C G Jagadeesh Kumar three for 50).

Third Division: Agraharam CC 138 in 40 overs (Mahadevaswamy 38, Girish 30, Manjunath three for 38. Yeshwanth Kumar two for 21) lost to Jawahars CC (Mandya) 140 for three in 18.1 overs (Umesh Kumar 70, Raghavendra 42, Purushotham two for 40).
