DYFI has decided to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava with the slogan “Employment-based development of Karnataka” in order to press the government to give opportunities to the unemployed youth in the district by filling vacant posts in the government offices.

Informing this to media persons here on Thursday, DYFI Secretary P R Bharath and Vice President Ramesh Rai said more than 2,000 posts are vacant in different departments of Kodagu.

It has been decided to collect 50,000 signatures through a signature campaign and submit the same to the Chief Minister, they informed.

Public are experiencing a lot of inconvenience due to the vacant posts in important departments like Health, Revenue, Power, Agriculture, Education and Forest. On the other hand, thousands of unemployed youth are migrating to the urban centres in search of jobs. To avoid this, a signature campaign will be launched from August 15. Vehicle rally will be conducted across the district in the first week of November, Bharath said.

In recent developments, the government is inviting applications for several posts online. It is totally inconvenient for the candidates in rural areas. In this backdrop, there should also be an opportunity to submit applications in the usual method, he urged.
