Jaycee Kodagu Utsav held

Jaycee members from three zones of Karnataka had taken part in the utsav.  All the guests were given warm welcome traditionally at the entrance. The Kodava men and women were seen in traditional Kodava attire. Indian Jaycee Zone-14 Director Ajjikutteera S Naren Kariappa inaugurated the utsav by chopping peduncle.

Jaycee former president T V N Murthy said “the culture of Kodagu is unique in the world. In an era when the traditional art forms are fast disappearing, the culture and tradition are still alive in Kodagu.”  Educationist Prof M D Nanjunda also spoke.

Former Jaycee members Ben Ganapathy, Appacchu, K M Subramani, K B Subbaiah, Biddanda Gupta Acchaiah, Prof M D Nanjunda, Macchamada Suresh, K P Shenoy, Purandara Rai were felicitated on the occasion.

Madikeri Cauvery Kalavrinda members staged ‘Ummathat,’ Malavanda Rajani Bindu and team staged ‘Bolakat,’ ‘Kolata,’ ‘Pareyakali’ and ‘Valagathat’ on the occasion. Chondanda Sumi Subbaiah and Ashitha Shankar sang Kodava songs on the occasion.
