JOIN USDue to depression in the Bay of Bengal, Kalaburagi district received heavy rainfall from Thursday night to Friday morning.
In the last 24 hours, Kalaburagi city received 46 mm of rainfall, while Chincholi taluk received 40 mm of rainfall, while Afzalpur, Jewargi and Kalagi taluks received 12 mm of rainfall, respectively. While, it drizzled at a few places like Aland, Sedam and Jewargi taluks. Showers have brought happiness among the jowar, tur dal and Bengal gram farmers in the district which has been reelling under severe drought. Dank weather prevailed throughout Thursday.
Joint director of Agriculture department Rithendranath Sugur has instructed the farmers that it would rain for another couple of days and hence the farmers should avoid harvesting of jowar and tur dal crops, he added.
